Editor Room View

The Room View mode of the editor edits the contents of rooms within a map. See the Map View page for details about how to activate the Room View.

The same pan and zoom controls apply here as on the Map View. The same icon system is in place, and the same mode and file icons on the left and right of the icon bar do the same things. The middle icons, however, are different:
Select: Like the select tool in the Map View, this tool is used to adjust the properties of things, except the things are now the objects in the current room. For example, it can be used to change the difficulty level of an enemy, or the strength of a destructible wall. Selecting the player brings up the same player options as the map view Select tool would.
Place Single: This tool allows you to place items in the room one at a time. There's a side menu associated with placement that hierarchy of objects. Any item with a plus sign in a circle next to it can be clicked to expand, and show more options underneath it. See the Reference page for more information on the items in the placement list. There is also a toggle that allows you to allow or deny overwriting one object with another.
Place Rectangle: This works like Place Single, but it can place a rectangle or line of objects. This is very handy when laying down walls for a maze or other big structure.
Move Objects: Clicking and dragging on room objects with this tool can change their position in the room. Also works on the player's starting position.
Randomize Room Contents: The same random generator that is used to create the rooms in Endurance play mode can be invoked on a single room. You'll see a grid of options when you use this tool, which control what kinds of things the Randomizer will generate when the "Generate" button is pressed. Any element marked "Make" will be cleared from the map and re-made by the randomizer. Any element marked "Clear" will be removed and not replaced. Any element marked "Keep" will not be changed. Clicking on the Make, Clear, and Keep flags on the top of the grid will set all emelents to that flag. It's a good idea to have all doors set up before you use the randomizer, because it will intelligently keep the walls and other objects away from the door entrances.
Playtest This Room: Sends the player into the room. If the current room isn't the player's start room, it will put you near a door. The player will be allowed outside of the room. High scores from this playtest mode will not be kept. Pausing in playtest mode will bring up a Trainer Menu, with options for giving yourself any of the keys as well as infinate ammo, lives, time, and armor.
